Hi there! Do you have a need for food and/or beverage styling, culinary marketing, recipe development or an on-air tv personality? If you need help with anything food related whether it be for a restaurant, magazine, food truck, a TV production, lifestyle images, or anything in between I can help. 🙂
I have a unique background that combines food + art + media production which equals a career that fuels my soul. As a Culinary Consultant with an extensive 20+ year background in television production, on-air talent, content creation and marketing strategy, plus 6 years devoted to culinary & food styling, is how I help brands achieve the video and images they are proud to display.
What is a Food Stylist
A Food Stylist shows up on set ready to make your food look mouthwatering, bountiful and delicious.
I work hand and hand with your photographer, each of us honing in on our own craft. This gives you two sets of eyes on every image. The photographer looks for one thing and I look at another – together we create beautiful images you will be proud to display.
Why do you need a Food Stylist?
TIME
There are several reasons. But one of the most important is TIME.
Sure there are some commercial photographers who can style food but think about if the general manager tried to wait tables, they could do it but would it be efficient or enjoyable, probably not. While one dish/recipe is being photographed I’m making the next one look picture perfect. You will have twice the time to get the shot perfected and shoot even more recipes.
A chef is a master at creating a feast for the tastebuds but arranging a dish for consumption can be completely different than styling a plate for photography.
GADGETS and GIZMOS
I have all the “things” that are required to make food ‘look’ camera ready. In a rushed situation, it’s easy to over-cook food, or if you make it too soon it gets dried out and rather dull. This is where I come in, I know the tricks of the trade to ‘fake it’. Not in a deceiving way (I do not believe in that) but I have the tools to get those perfect grill marks every time, dull ground beef, I can get it looking juicy in no time. There are situations food just doesn’t want to cooperate and for that, I use glue. 🙂
PROPS
The last thing you want to do is spend money on props that you will likely never use again. I have plenty. Everything from goblets and glasses to napkins to platters, fake grass and cutlery. Have your own that match your branding? We’ll use those for brand consistency but if you’re looking to achieve lifestyle images for social, I’ve got you covered.
