Challah Bread French Toast

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf fresh Challah bread
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 pats of butter

For Serving

  • warm maple syrup
  • powder sugar
  • butter
  • fresh fruit

Instructions

  1. Slice bread 1.5″ thick
  2. In a shallow container, like a pie plate, combine the eggs, milk, vanilla, honey, cinnamon and nutmeg. Whisk well until everything is combined.
  3. In a medium skillet, melt one pat of butter. Dip both sides of the bread in the egg mixture then cook the slices until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Serve with warm syrup and a side of fresh fruit. Garnish with powdered sugar if desired.
